SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Kyrie Irving returned to action for the Dallas Mavericks against the Utah Jazz on Monday night after missing 12 games with a bruised right heel. Irving had been sidelined since injuring his heel against Portland on Dec. 8, and the Mavericks went 6-6 during his absence.Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said Irving will not be facing a minutes restriction. The plan is to get him reacclimated to his normal routine enough to ease the load Luka Doncic has carried without Irving.Doncic is averaging 37.1 minutes per game this season – nearly three minutes more than his career average.“That helps when you have (Irving) back and you get more bodies back,” Kidd said. “We would like to get (Doncic’s) minutes down, but if you ask him, he’s fine where he’s at. So we’ll figure it out.”Irving is averaging 23.0 points and 5.2 assists through 17 games this season. He has struggled to stay healthy, missing a total of 16 games so far due to various ailments. Before injuring his he...Rusia lanza cifra récord de drones sobre Ucrania; Putin anuncia más ataques aéreos

Las autoridades rusas señalaron que el número de muertos asce...Elvis, fishmongers and a Kraken win in a nautical scene for the NHL Winter Classic

SEATTLE (AP) — The part-owner of the franchise who was once more known for his exploits on the football field led the way off the bus, followed by players clad in white T-shirts and orange overalls as a tribute to the fishmongers working across town at Pike Place Market.A few minutes later, a gaggle of Elvises – or would it be Elvi? – strode their way into the stadium in white jumpsuits, sunglasses and mostly fake hair.“Believe it or not, Paul Cotter didn’t even wear a wig. That’s just naturally his hair,” Vegas’ Keegan Kolesar said. “So he was pretty spot on.”The 15th version of the NHL Winter Classic had a decidedly local flair as both the Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights tapped into two of the most well-known aspects of their communities.Eventually, the theatrics were replaced by actual hockey. Playing in front of a sellout crowd of 47,313, the Kraken posted a 3-0 victory, with Joey Daccord posting the first shutout in a Winter Classic. “Just to walk out to the ice like th...Arrestan al pelotero de Grandes Ligas Wander Franco, en República Dominicana, acusado de relación con una menor

When earthquake warnings sent drivers on a Japanese highway scrambling for safety Monday, UMass Boston student Suzu Aoyama was among them. Aoyama, 20, shared video of the scene and later spoke with 7NEWS about her experience as the 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck.“Everything was shaking,” she said. Though she goes to school in Boston, Aoyama was home in Japan on winter break at the time of the earthquake, which has since been followed by a series of other quakes.“I was in the car and I was going to my home and the ground started to shake and the car was shaking so hard,” she said. Aoyama is from Matsumoto in central Japan, about 150 miles from the spot where Monday’s tremors began. Her town didn’t suffer much structural damage. Images from communities near the earthquake epicenter, though, showed buildings reduced to rubble, huge cracks in concrete and fires breaking out.
