WILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park is offering a week of free events for all ages in conjunction with April Break. The 25 miles of trails owned by the Department of Environmental Conservation, Saratoga County, and the Town of Wilton will be open to the public. PANTON, Vt. (NEWS10) -- The missing Vermonter reported missing on Wednesday has been found safe. Colby Johnson, 25, of Panton, Vermont, and his dog, Koko, were both found safe after Vermont State Police reported he left for a local store and never returned home. COPAKE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Copake man was arrested after calling 911 and reporting he shot at a car of someone he believed was trespassing, according to deputies. On Tuesday, around 5:26 p.m., Columbia County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Connolly Road in Copake for a reported trespassing complaint. According to deputies, the person who reported the incident to 911 said he fired two rounds from a gun at the car of a person he believed to be trespassing. Deputies say one round struck and damaged a tire of the car. No injuries were reported, and the person in the car left the area. ST. LOUIS - A new electric train is rolling down the tracks at the Saint Louis Zoo. The train is named after Mary Meachum, a St. Louis abolitionist who was instrumental in educating Black people. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Missouri Senate gives first-round approval to a bill that would ban texting while driving.Missouri is one of only two US states without a law that prohibits people over 21 from texting while driving. Right now, it is only considered illegal for drivers 21 and under to text and drive. Democrat and Republican lawmakers both introduced legislation this year to combat distracted driving. The bill making the most rounds lately is SB 56, sponsored by State Sen. Jason Bean (R-District 25). This legislation would require hands-free cell phone use for drivers of all ages. A first-time violation would mean a $50 fine and two points against the driver’s license.
