LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Warren County, encompassing Glens Falls, Queensbury, and part of the Southern Adirondacks, is taking a look at housing. Residents in and around the county have been invited to a meeting on a recent housing study that takes a look at the state of houses, apartments, and short-term rentals in the North Country county. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! A meeting is set for Tuesday, Nov. 14, on the study, conducted by Novogradac & Company, LLC. The study is the product of dozens of interviews with stakeholders around the county, as well as a review of data from the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Adirondack State Park, and more than 25 more sources. It has all culminated in 67 pages of work on local housing. ROTTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Mama Julia's Pupuseria will soon be opening in Rotterdam. The eatery is located at 1309 Altamont Avenue in the former Alotta Empanadas space. "I'm opening this restaurant because as a new resident of the Capital Region and after working in the restaurant industry my whole life, I didn’t see or find my home country’s cuisine in the area and I want to bring something different and unique to the community," said owner Jose Torres.Mama Julia's will be serving Salvadorian food including pupusas and antojitos. ST. JOHN, Mo. – Eduardo Guzman Salazar, a 22-year-old man from St. Louis County, faces charges of burglary and robbery in connection with an incident on Page Avenue. Salazar is charged with second-degree burglary and stealing, accused of breaking into an apartment window and stealing over $2,800 in cash. He is held on a $50,000 cash bond. On November 5, 2023, the Overland Police Department investigated a reported burglary on the 9700 block of Page Avenue. ST. LOUIS - A man faces felony charges in connection with a shooting death Tuesday in south St. Louis near the River Des Peres. Prosecutors have charged Erik Seitz, 36, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the investigation. City sells stolen car in error; won’t share profits with victim Dennis Bieg, 44, died in the shooting. Investigators say he was shot in the torso around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 4700 block of River Des Peres Boulevard. He was rushed to a hospital after the shooting, where he was later pronounced deceased. Authorities have not yet disclosed what led up to the shooting or any potential motives. AdventHealth Porter hospital in southeast Denver has reopened for acute and emergency clinical care services after a boiler system failure forced a 10-day closure, hospital administration announced Thursday morning on its website and in a news release.The hospital, located at 2525 S. Downing St., closed to patients Oct. 30 when the facility lost heat and hot water following the system failure. Authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department have announced an arrest in connection with the torso of a woman found in a dumpster in Encino Wednesday morning. At a press conference late Wednesday night, officials with the Los Angeles Police Department said 35-year-old Samuel Haskell was arrested at 11:25 a.m. at the Topanga Mall in connection with the crime. He has been charged with one count of murder. While authorities believe the torso found in the bag is Haskell's wife, Mei Haskell, they said partial remains are harder to positively identify.
