SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An arrest has been made following an investigation into a report of a sexual assault that happened on August 6. Police charged Joseph D. According to the police, officers located the victim and notified the Investigations Division. Freshwater was ultimately identified as the suspect. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Two people in Albany were arrested following a traffic stop, according to state police. Arafat Ali, 43, of Albany, and Luella Swart, 24, of Saugerties, are facing gun and drug charges. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! On August 10 at 11:50 a.m., troopers stopped a vehicle on Ontario Street in Albany for multiple traffic law violations. The driver was identified as Ali, and the passenger was identified as Swart. The investigation by police revealed that Ali was illegally in possession of a loaded handgun, a BB gun, felony-weight narcotics, drug paraphernalia containing drug residue and a large amount of cash. BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) – The sheriff in Bastrop County, Texas, called it a "sad tragedy" while describing the lengthy recovery efforts it took to pull the bodies of three people and a dog from a hole in a corn field Wednesday. Sheriff Maurice Cook said a man from Red Rock, Texas led three people from Florida on a hog hunt and called deputies for help at about 1 a.m. Wednesday. The man reported three people trapped in a hole in the 300 block of New Trail, which is close to County Road 461 in northern Bastrop County. The hole turned out to be a cistern that had standing water in it about six to eight feet below ground level. The sheriff said the hunting guide told deputies that a dog escaped from a truck and fell into the cistern. One man apparently jumped into the hole to save the dog, and another man and a woman removed some of their clothes and dove in later. ST. LOUIS – A woman has been identified in a fatal north St. Louis shooting.Police responded to a fatal shooting in north St. Louis at the 4700 block of Riverview on August 3 at 6:20 p.m. Officers found Ametta Powell, 30, suffering from a gunshot wound. She later died at an area hospital. The Homicide Division is continuing to investigate. CREVE COEUR -- A stalled truck led to an arrest in July. The police discovered it was stolen.Creve Coeur Police found a truck stopped in the southbound lanes of Olive near Old Olive West at 1 a.m. on July 25, 2023. Police discovered that the truck had been reported stolen the day before in St. Louis County. Jerome L. King, 35, was placed under arrest.King is charged with tampering and having a gun illegally. ST. LOUIS -- A pedestrian hit and killed in north St. Louis has been identified. A Jeep Cherokee driven by a 47-year-old woman struck Eddie Huggins, 39, at the intersection of Natural Bridge and Arlington at around 2 a.m. on August 2.The driver of the Jeep was going west on Natural Bridge Road when she went through the intersection at Arlington and hit Huggins. EAST ST. LOUIS, MO – The Martin Luther King Bridge at St. Louis was to be closed this weekend because of construction. The deck needs to be sealed. Due to inclement weather that work has been postponed.The Illinois Department of Transportation previously said that the Martin Luther King Bridge will be closed this weekend. Woodland Park’s teachers union is suing the local school district and Board of Education, alleging employees’ First Amendment rights were violated by a policy adopted earlier this year that prohibits educators from speaking to the press or posting on social media about district decisions without consent. The Woodland Park Education Association also plans to seek a preliminary injunction to block the policy, according to the lawsuit, filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Denver. “If it seems that Woodland Park has been in the press an inordinate amount of times for such a small town, you can place the blame squarely on the (district) and (the board),” said Amie Baca-Oehlert, president of the Colorado Education Association, in a statement. “They are intent on politicizing all aspects of Woodland Park’s public education system, and will stop at nothing to demoralize their public school educators and negatively impact their students’ learning environments.”The Colorado Educati...FBI offering reward 20 years after L.A. boy was kidnapped in Mexico City

The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for information in the 20-year-old kidnapping of a Los Angeles boy in Mexico City.Joshua Keshaba Sierra Garcia was months shy of turning 3 when he was kidnapped on Aug. 12, 2003.At the time, Garcia was with relatives who had traveled to the Mexican capital to have him baptized.He was last seen around 11 a.m. that morning, when he was wearing a grey sweatshirt, blue shorts and sandals.Garcia’s babysitter was killed during the kidnapping and after a series of ransom calls, a money drop resulted in the arrest of one suspect by Mexican law enforcement.Garcia, however, was not turned over and he has not been located.An original photo and aged-processed photos and sketches of Joshua Keshaba Sierra Garcia were provided by the FBI on Aug. 11, 2023.
