When can I put plants outside? Midwest frost forecast ST. LOUIS -- When is it safe to leave your plants outside without worrying about frost killing them? A sudden drop in temperature can damage plants or kill tender new growth. Many gardeners protect their plants in the fall and spring by covering them with blankets or moving them indoors until the risk of frost has passed. You should wait until tax day in the St. Louis area to put out your plants. That usually happens in mid-April, around the 15 to the 18 of the month. Trending: Cardinals selling $9 tickets in one-day flash sale Friday That does not mean that your plants are safe from the cold. The Freeze Date Tool from the Midwestern Regional Climate Center at Purdue University is a good guide to see when the best time to keep plants indoors. It shows when the first and last freezes have be...

Opinion: Three Colorado abortion bills are likely unconstitutional

Published Tue, 05 Nov 2024 03:53:33 GMT

Opinion: Three Colorado abortion bills are likely unconstitutional Our right to make our own health care choices will be seriously compromised if Senate Bills 188, 189, and 190 are signed into law. While all three bills will eventually be struck down as unconstitutional under the Colorado and US constitutions, they will, in the meanwhile, deny our right to choose.Senate Bill 189 will force employers to purchase health insurance policies that cover abortion up to birth without copays in violation of the Colorado Constitution which states no public funds may be used directly or indirectly for abortion unless to save the life of the mother with every reasonable effort made to preserve her life and the life of her child. Under SB 189, public funds will be used directly to enforce the abortion mandate and indirectly to force taxpayers to subsidize abortion through their insurance premiums. The bill does not protect employees who consider themselves pro-choice but do not want to pay for abortion or employees who are pro-life. The bill has a narrow excepti...

Uzbekistan: the State Guarantees Developing a Sustainable Education System

Uzbekistan: the State Guarantees Developing a Sustainable Education System It is an undeniable fact that in the 21st century the success in development can only be achieved by those countries that have chosen to prioritize investment in human capital, since the accumulated knowledge and information have now become strategic resources - writes Ranokhon Tursunova.A state system of sustainable education, which consists of pre-school, general secondary and primary vocational education, higher and postgraduate education, professional development and retraining, is well-developed in Uzbekistan. However, it is necessary to point out the peculiarity of the model proposed by our state, which implies a permanent learning process, in which a person has the opportunity to gain knowledge for a long time and further improve it.As for pre-school education, the system has not been regulated from a constitutional-legal point of view so far. It is quite relevant and timely to introduce a new edition of the Constitution with regulations that the state creates conditions for ...

The 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome will provide the perfect opportunity for professional golf to unite

The 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome will provide the perfect opportunity for professional golf to unite The eyes of the golfing world might not be focused on Rome just yet, but with just six months to go before the 2023 Ryder Cup begins, that will soon change. As of now, however, most of the focus is understandably on the first major of the year set to be held at Augusta National in Georgia. The Masters takes centre stage In particular, with Rory Mcllroy chasing the career Grand Slam, the narrative in the professional game is heavily centred on what might happen on the hallowed fairways of the Masters when he tees off. Tellingly, this sense of expectation reached new heights in the lead-up to the event after the latest golf odds showed the Northern Irishman to be the outright favourite to win his first green jacket and in doing so, make history. Indeed, if you bet on US Masters outright markets, you will find Mcllory at odds of just 13/2 to win the tournament. Accomplishing this feat would mean that Mcllroy becomes only the seventh man in history to win the career Grand...
