(WPIX) – A New York City man is accused of brutally killing his ex-girlfriend’s dog during a fight in her Bronx apartment, the district attorney’s office said Thursday.Victor Castillo, 32, allegedly picked up the 7-year-old Pomeranian, named Ken-Shin, by the neck and slammed the dog’s head into a coffee table during an argument with his ex at her home on Feb. 9, according to the district attorney’s office.  Woman stabbed NYC juice shop worker in the head and neck: NYPD “This was a spectacularly brutal act of animal abuse. Austin airport parking prices set to increase AUSTIN (KXAN) — The price to park at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is set to increase beginning Tuesday.According to the airport, the price increase would affect economy parking, as well as the blue and red parking garages. The daily price for each would be increased by $2.The Airport did not specify if the rate change would impact the hourly parking costs.The current prices are:Economy Parking: $10 / DAYBlue Garage: $17 / DAYRed Garage: $27 / DAYThe price increases are scheduled to take effect at midnight April 18 and are as follows:Economy Parking: $12 / DAYBlue Garage: $19 / DAYRed Garage: $29 / DAYKXAN reached out to AUS Friday regarding why the increase is happening, as well as how it compares to other airports in cities of similar size to Austin. Officials with AUS said they would work to get a response by this weekend.

It is found in sparse areas west of I-35 in places like Cedar Park and west Austin but its biggest concentration is in an area from Blanco west to Kerrville to around Garner State Park. It is at risk due to several factors, according to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.There has been a marked decline in an area from the I-35 corridor housing Austin and San Antonio westward. As much as 1,600 acres in Bexar, Medina, Travis, and Uvalde Counties have been marked as a critical habit for the plant's survival.Bracted is a term used to describe a leaf from the axil from which a flower develops. Off-duty LAPD officer killed in crash on 210 Freeway in Glendora identified An off-duty LAPD officer died early Saturday morning after appearing to have crashed into the back of a semi-truck on the 210 Freeway in Glendora. The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. in the eastbound span of the 210 Freeway near Grand Avenue. Man shot in the head on Hollywood Walk of Fame A man was hospitalized after being shot in the head in front of tourists on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Friday night.Police responded to Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue around 7:37 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.When officers arrived, they found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head just footsteps from the famous TCL Chinese Theatre, authorities said. Clear skies, dry weather throughout SoCal for the weekend; clouds return on Monday  Clear, sunny skies are in the forecast for Saturday, with wind gusts of up to 25 miles per hour expected Saturday afternoon and into Saturday night. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will increase, and the region will remain dry through Sunday. Temperatures are expected to drop by the end of the weekend.   “A cooling trend with strengthening onshore flow is forecast for early next week,” said NWS. Low clouds are expected in coastal areas, but they will make way for sunshine on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday are forecast to be cloudy, with cooler temperatures accompanying the overcast skies. “On Monday, we will see more cloud coverage, and Tuesday as well,” said KTLA meteorologist Kacey Montoya. “This is when temperatures are really going to start to cool off as the front passes through.” Thursday and Friday will see sunshine and warmer temperatures return to the region.
