The clock finally struck midnight on the East Ridge football team’s Cinderella postseason run. But it took until the final moments to make it happen.Lakeville South junior Jonah Shine scored on a 2-yard run with 2:25 to play, then the Cougars blocked what would have been a game-winning 42-yard field goal as time expired to beat the surprising Raptors 35-34 in a Class 6A state quarterfinal Friday night at St. Michael-Albertville High School.Lakeville South (10-1) advances to meet Centennial in a Cougars vs. Cougars matchup in the semifinals at 7 p.m. next Thursday at U.S. Bank Stadium. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The University at Albany's College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity hosted a free Lego challenge for kids in the Capital Region. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Kids at the event walked through different stations and engaged in various Lego challenges related to the theme of pets and animals. Among the challenges was a Sudoku puzzle, creating replicas of various models, or decoding a phrase using Legos. There was also trivia as well as other games and activities. As he is back on the basketball court with the Skidmore Thoroughbreds, the college is helping out with donations from their opening game.As head coach of the men's basketball program, Joe Burke is as decorated as they come. FENTON, Mo. - St. Louis County Police are investigating a fatal road rage incident that happened Friday at Highway 141 just south of Gravois Bluffs. The suspect is in police custody. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged Robert Mulkey, 53. of Crystal City, Missouri, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the shooting. Police were called to the scene just after 8 a.m. when drivers in the area called 911 to report a hazard on the road. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. ARNOLD, Mo. - A patient with horrific medical troubles is struggling to get to the doctor, even though taxpayers are picking up the tab for transportation. Arnold resident Viva Schermesser lost both of her legs due to a medical concern earlier this year. She's in and out of the doctor's office all of the time for visits that are critical to her well-being. Adding insult to injury, it’s hard for Viva to even get to doctor's visits. The problem is, private vans that taxpayers fund to transport her to medical visits just aren’t showing up. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - An argument led to a deadly shooting Friday morning at a St. Louis County business. The suspect is now behind bars. Prosecutors have charged Nolan-Ryan Thomas, 31, with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the investigation. Officers from the North County Precinct responded to the shooting at around 11 a.m. in the 11600 block of West Florissant Avenue. Despite being sent to a nearby hospital, the man died of his injuries.According to a probable cause statement obtained by FOX 2, Thomas and the victim ended up in a verbal argument that allegedly led to Thomas punching the victim in the face and shooting him. New details were released Friday in the case of a woman's torso that was found in an Encino dumpster on Nov. 8.The remains are believed to be Mei Haskell, 37, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.Mei’s husband, Samuel Bond Haskell IV, 35, is suspected of killing her. He was arrested at the Topanga Mall Wednesday night and charged with one count of murder. A suspect was arrested after a high-speed chase in Ventura County on Friday night.It's unclear what the man was initially wanted for as California Highway Patrol units trailed closely behind the vehicle.The chase started on the southbound 5 Freeway, down the Grapevine and eventually ended on the westbound 126 Freeway after authorities successfully deployed a spike strip to disable the vehicle's front tire.The suspect hits speeds of around 90 miles per hour throughout the pursuit.A pursuit surrenders to CHP officers in Ventura County on Nov. 10, 2023. (KRON) -- A dog was killed, and a pedestrian was injured after a felony hit-and-run on Friday morning in San Mateo, the San Mateo Police Department announced in a press release. Around 8:31 a.m., police were informed about a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of 42nd Avenue and Edison Street.The pedestrian was seen lying in the middle of the intersection bleeding, according to SMPD.
